David Cundy, President

David Cundy founded Design Trust in 1982 with a mission to provide corporate identity and communications design services. Building on this foundation, David has expanded the firm into the truly integrated marketing agency it is today, helping clients around the world build brand success through strategy, positioning, branding, marketing, advertising and interactive development services.

A long-time authority in electronic and online communications, David has served as a consultant to Chase, Dun & Bradstreet, GE and IBM; and as a speaker at the Conference Board and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). He managed production of a Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award application for a leading global financial services company, and conducted a worldwide marketing communications assessment for IBM's Global Services division during its foundation. David also conducted the rebranding of the Rockefeller's Wayfarer Aviation services company (now TAG Aviation), managed development of e-business solutions for Citibank, provided branding services for IBM and Lotus, and developed online brand management solutions for Ernst & Young, Ogilvy & Mather and Xerox, among others.

David’s commitment to innovation is reflected in his leadership in developing Design Trust's e-publishing initiative in 1987; the firm’s interactive practice in 1996; the firm's integrated practice in 1999; and Experegy, the firm's consulting affiliate, in 2003. At Experegy, where David co-developed BrandArbiter®, Experegy’s proprietary assessment methodology , he has led a diverse team of senior consultants working with a wide range of clients, including Amerada Hess, Ernst & Young / Giuliani Partners, Navios, Russell Reynolds and Tosoh.

Today, David continues to bring leading-edge creative and business strategy to clients through Design Trust's "Constituent-Centric" approach to marketing, as well as the firm’s ContentSpan®, Online Brand Management System and Online Sales Manager business applications.

In the professional community, David was a founding board member of the International Design by Electronics Association (IDEA), a worldwide organization dedicated to the advancement of technology in design, and the Northeast Software Association (Nsoft), a forum for software executives dedicated to fostering high technology businesses in the Northeast (whose award-winning identity he created). David also served on the boards of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA; New York Chapter), and the Type Directors Club, where he served as president. He is a member of the Luxury Marketing Council, Design Management Institute (DMI), and is a 500 Club member of the IABC.

David holds an MFA from Yale University.
